Sam has over 20 year of industry experience, his extensive knowledge and connections throughout the EU allow SDL to grow at a substantive pace. SDL Group business services now include: Harvesting, Sawmills, Wood Pellets, site clearance, Biomass CHP and Machinery Hire.

Michelle is a chartered accountant and is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial aspects of the organisation. Her extensive experience in accounting and business development is crucial in ensuring the company's financial health, stability, and strategic growth.

Matt has a strong background in accounts with over 19+ years experience including a range of roles including Financial Controller, Head of Finance and Financial Director. This knowledge is used to plan and implement strategies that align with SDL's vision, to promote continued growth.

Alex oversees all departments to ensure the smooth running of daily operations. Utilising an extensive network of connections and industry partners, Alex facilitates the timely completion of all projects ranging from large site clearance jobs to daily assistance of all other departments.

Emily, our Health and Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the team's well-being and ensuring a secure working environment. Through proactive measures and meticulous oversight, she cultivates a culture of safety that permeates every aspect of daily operations.

With extensive experience across forestry sectors, Kevin leads sustainable harvesting projects, overseeing site reviews, plans, and post-harvest care. His strong relationships with NRW and Forestry England, and his team management skills, secure SDL contracts and favourable material rates, ensuring future success.

George has worked at the sawmill for his entire career with knowledge and expertise across all roles within it. Overseeing a team of over 20 staff, whose combined years, and extensive knowledge ensures that SDL Sawmills continues to thrive and expand.

James, our Wood Pellet Plant Manager is passionate about renewable energy. He is responsible for managing the CHP boiler and renewable energy production, as well as the intricate and precise processes of producing our best in class wood pellets.
