What's Jolly Pines all about?

Jolly Pines is a festive partnership between SDL Solutions and Kaleb Cooper Contracting. Bringing locally grown trees and big sustainability goals together

Born from shared farming roots and proud British values, Jolly Pines is here to prove that doing Christmas the sustainable way can still be full of character.

Each tree starts its story on local farmland in Herefordshire, where non-drop Nordmann Fir trees are lovingly grown and cared for throughout the year. When the season arrives, the SDL Solutions team loads up and delivers them across the region. This means, instead of lots of people making lots of individual trips - SDL does this in much less trips, saving you mileage and time.

After the decorations come down, we’ll be back in the New Year to collect your tree for its next job, turning it into renewable energy and producing the best quality biomass and equine wood pellets

At Jolly Pines, every tree has a second life waiting to begin.

Jolly Pines & Hawkstone

Bringing a little festive cheer to pubs!

Both Jolly Pines and Hawkstone are driven by the same values of British heritage, farming spirit, and a belief in doing things properly.

This year, we’ve teamed up to celebrate sustainability and local pride in true festive style. Every Jolly Pines Christmas tree is British grown, sustainably delivered, and collected after the festive season to be turned into renewable energy. Every pint of Hawkstone Cider is made from freshly pressed British apples, slowly fermented for up to six months, and never from concentrate.

Together, we’re rewarding pubs that back British farming. Any pub that starts or continues to stock Hawkstone Cider (Apple or Hedgerow)  will be in with a chance to win a British grown Christmas tree from Jolly Pines, and a lucky few will have theirs delivered personally by Kaleb Cooper.

Kaleb Cooper Contracting

Founded in 2016 by Kaleb Cooper, our business offers a range of agricultural contracting solutions in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. Starting with a shed of chickens and fresh out of Moreton Morrell College, Kaleb recognised the need for a more flexible approach to farming.

At Kaleb Cooper Contracting, we are passionate about delivering high-quality contracting services across the UK. Since 2016, we have been dedicated to supporting farmers with reliable and efficient agricultural solutions, ensuring that every job is completed to the highest standard.

Hawkstone Brewery

Launched in 2021 by Jeremy Clarkson and The Cotswold Brew Co, Hawkstone offers a range of premium British lagers, ciders, gin and vodka. An authentic Cotswolds brand with an authentic Cotswolds story, it was named after an ancient standing stone, and the beer was originally made from barley grown at Diddly Squat Farm. Hawkstone is currently the fastest-growing beer brand in the UK and holds the distinction of being the most-followed beer in the world on Instagram.

Hawkstone are dedicated to supporting British farming, with every bottle celebrating British agriculture.

Their partnership with us focuses on Kaleb’s award-winning cider. What makes Hawkstone Cider so special, you may ask?

  • Award-Winning Taste: The cider has won gold awards at the World Cider Awards, demonstrating its premium quality and exceptional flavour.

  • Premium Ingredients: Hawkstone uses high-quality, freshly pressed juice from traditional British apple varieties and Champagne yeast for fermentation.

  • Superior Process: The cider is fermented for up to six months in oak vats, never from concentrate or pasteurised, resulting in a smoother, richer flavour than many competitors.

More than just a tree

Once your Christmas tree has done its job of spreading festive cheer, its story doesn’t end there.

At Jolly Pines, sustainability starts long before Christmas. We’re proud to support British Christmas tree growers, sourcing only premium A-grade Nordmann Fir trees grown nearby in Herefordshire. By choosing locally grown trees, we help reduce transport miles and back the farmers who dedicate their year to producing top-quality, non-drop trees- rather than relying on imported stock that floods supermarkets and garden centres each winter.

After the festivities, every tree is carefully collected and brought to SDL Solutions in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, where it’s chipped and repurposed as renewable fuel. The resulting woodchip powers our Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system, generating clean, sustainable energy.

That energy goes on to create high-quality wood pellets, used to heat homes, boilers, and provide bedding for stables across the UK. Any surplus electricity is fed back into the national grid, helping power households beyond the Cotswolds.

It’s a complete closed-loop cycle- supporting British growers, reducing waste, and turning festive trees into renewable warmth for the year ahead.
